Description:Summary: Species: | Fe, Rb, Hu, Bv | Applications: | IHC-Fr, IP, IHC, ELISA | Clonality: | Monoclonal | | Gene: | ACHE | Purity: | Ascites | Host: | Mouse | | Specificity: | This does not detect butyrylcholinesterase (BChE). | Publications: | Antibody has not yet been mentioned in a publication. | Details: Clone: | HR2 | Isotype: | IgG2b | Immunogen: | Purified human cerebellar acetylcholinesterase | Localization: | Cell Membrane and Secreted | Gene Symbol: ACHE Entrez: | 43 (Human) | Related Genes: | CHAT, BCHE, CAT, SH2D3C, GLYAT, OP, VIP, TH, TAC1, NGF, G4, NPY, AFP, APP, PNPLA6, ACHR, ACE, DLD, GSTP1, LAMC2, GSTK1, SLCO6A1, SST, CA1, ALB, SLC18A3, NT5E, GFAP, BDNF, POMC, CA3, TRIM26, SOD1, LIPG, CALCA, CHRNA4, A12, S100A12, GPI, GSR | Background: Cholinergic neurotransmission occurs in motor, autonomic and central nervous synapses and requires very rapid inactivation of its transmitter, acetylcholine (ACh). Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) rapidly hydrolyzes ACh to acetate and choline, thereby inactivating it. AChE is found in the neuromuscular junction anchored to the basal lamina which runs between the nerve terminal and muscle membrane. AChE is also found outside the nervous and neuromuscular system in blood, lymph, germ and liver cells suggesting a role for AChE not related to cholinergic transmission. Another less specific cholinesterase, butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), seems to contribute to the regulation of the ACh concentration in the synaptic cleft. Species: Reactivity: | Cross-reacts with Human, Rabbit, Cow, Cat and Guinea pig. Not yet tested in other species. | Applications: Uses: | Immunohistochemistry (frozen), ELISA, Immunoprecipitation. Immunohistochemical staining of AChE in human brain samples results in staining of nerve fibers and terminals. This antibody cannot be used in Western blot to detect AChE. This antibody is not suitable for FACS. | Dilutions: | ELISA assay dependent, immunohistochemistry 1:50, immunoprecipitation Assay dependent, Immunohistochemistry-Frozen 1:50 | Positive Controls: | 1 positive controls | Packaging: Buffer: | PBS | Storage: | Aliquot and store at -20C or -80C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. | Preservative: | 0.05% Sodium Azide | Limitations: | This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt, except for peptides and proteins which are guaranteed for 3 months. | |
