These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in any application. The protein encoded by this gene is an isozyme of the long-chain fatty-acid-coenzyme A ligase family. Although differing in substrate specificity, subcellular localization, and tissue distribution, all isozymes of this family convert free long-chain fatty acids into fatty acyl-CoA esters, and thereby play a key role in lipid biosynthesis and fatty acid degradation. This isozyme preferentially utilizes arachidonate as substrate. The absence of this enzyme may contribute to the mental retardation or Alport syndrome. Alternative splicing of this gene generates 2 transcript variants. Species: Reactivity: | Human, mouse and rat. | Applications: Uses: | This antibody is useful for Peptide ELISA and Western Blot. Preliminary experiments gave an approx 90kDa band in H460 lysate. | Dilutions: | Peptide ELISA 1:28000, Western Blot 0.2ug/ml | Concentrations: | 0.5 mg/ml | Positive Controls: | 1 positive controls | Packaging: Buffer: | Tris-saline containing 0.02% Na azide [pH7.3] with 0.5% BSA | Storage: | Aliquot and store at -20C or -80C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. | Preservative: | 0.02% Sodium Azide | Limitations: | This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt, except for peptides and proteins which are guaranteed for 3 months. | |
