Description:Summary: Species: | Vi | Applications: | IF, ELISA | Clonality: | Monoclonal | | Purity: | IgG purified | Host: | Mouse | | Specificity: | Recognizes the hexon group antigen of Adenovirus types 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 (other types not tested). Adenoviruses are 70-90nm non-enveloped icosohedral viruses containing linear double-stranded DNA, which are unusually stable to adverse pH conditions and chemical or physical agents, and are responsible for respiratory infections such as the common cold, bronchitis, croup and pneumonia and may also cause gastroenteritis, pharyngitis, urethritis and conjunctivitis. There are at least 51 immunologically distinct types of Adenovirus, which are categorised into the subgenera A-F based on different morphological, oncogenic, haemagglutinating and DNA sequence properties. | Publications: | Antibody has not yet been mentioned in a publication. | Details: Clone: | 1491 | Isotype: | IgG1 | Immunogen: | Made to Viral ADENOVIRUS | Background: Adenoviruses are DNA viruses generally widespread in nature that are frequently the cause of acute upper respiratory tract infections (i.e. common colds). Forty-seven known serotypes have been isolated since they were first discovered in 1953 with 3 types known to cause gastroenteritis. Several types have oncogenic potential though most cause self-limiting febrile illnesses characterised by inflammation of conjunctivae and the respiratory tract. The virus can be isolated from the majority of tonsils/adenoids surgically removed, indicating latent infections. It is not known how long the virus can persist in the body, or whether it is capable of reactivation after long periods. In patients experiencing immunosuppression (e.g. AIDS) it can be reactivated causing disease. Species: Reactivity: | Viral. Not yet tested in other species. | Applications: Uses: | This antibody is useful for ELISA, immunofluorescence | Dilutions: | ELISA immunofluorescence | Packaging: Buffer: | Phosphate buffered saline, pH7.2 | Storage: | Store at 4C short term. Aliquot and store at -20C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. | Preservative: | 0.09% Sodium Azide | Limitations: | This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt, except for peptides and proteins which are guaranteed for 3 months. | |
