AIF translocates to the nucleus when apoptosis is induced and causes mitochondria to release the apoptogenic proteins, cytochrome c and caspase-9. Apoptotic activity of AIF leads to chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation (1). Similar to cytochrome c, AIF is a bifunctional protein with an oxidoreductase function and a second apoptogenic function. In contrast to cytochrome c, however, AIF acts in a caspase-independent fashion (2,3,4). Species: Reactivity: | Human, Mouse, Rat. Not tested in other species. | Applications: Uses: | This antibody is useful for FACS, immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation, Western Blot, immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. | Dilutions: | flow cytometry / FACS analysis 1:50, immunohistochemistry 1:500, immunofluorescence , immunoprecipitation 1:10, Western Blot 1:1, Immunocytochemistry 1:500, 000, | Packaging: Buffer: | 50 mM Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 0.15 M NaCl, 40% Glycerol, and 0.05% BSA. | Storage: | Aliquot and store at -20C or -80C.
