Description:Summary: Species: | Sh, Rt, Po, Hu | Applications: | IHC-Fr, IHC-P | Clonality: | Monoclonal | | Gene: | ACTA2 | Purity: | Ascites | Host: | Mouse | | Specificity: | Recognizes smooth muscle actin, being specific for the alpha-isoform. Smooth muscle actin is expressed in normal smooth muscle and in myoepithelial cells, and also in tumors derived from these cells. Clone 1A4 is reported to be suitable for use in Western blotting (2). | Publications: | Antibody has not yet been mentioned in a publication. | Details: Clone: | 1A4 | Isotype: | IgG2a | Immunogen: | Alpha-smooth muscle actin N-terminal decapeptide | Gene Symbol: ACTA2 Entrez: | 59 (Human) | | 81633 (Rat) | Related Genes: | MYH7, DES, ACTC1, NPPA, MYOD1, MYOG, MYH14, MYL1, NKX2-5, ACTA1, PLN, TTN, TGFBR1, GJA1, CDKN1A, TNNT2, HNRNPC, C2, PCNA, LMNA, MLC1, TGFBR2, HESX1, ELSPBP1, SGCD, HAND1, MSTN, GATA4, VCL, PSMD1, MYC, MYF5, MYF6, NOL3, VCAN, MYH11, FBN1, TGFB1, MSC, TNFRSF11A | Background: The two major cytoskeletal proteins implicated in cell motility are actin and myosin. Actin and myosin are constituents of many cell types and are involved in a myriad of cellular processes including locomotion, secretion, cytoplasmic streaming, phagocytosis and cytokinesis. Although actin is one of the most conserved eukaryotic proteins, it is expressed in mammals and birds as at least six isoforms characterized by electrophoresis and amino acid sequence analysis. Four of them represent the differentiation markers of muscle tissues and two are found in practically all cells. Species: Reactivity: | Reacts with Rat, Sheep, Pig and Human. | Applications: Uses: | Immunohistochemistry-Frozen, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. | Dilutions: | Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin 1:10 - 1:40, Immunohistochemistry-Frozen 1:10 - 1:40 | Packaging: Buffer: | PBS, 1% Bovine Serum Albumin | Storage: | Store at 4C short term.
