VDR is a member of super family of steroid hormone receptors. It is known to play role in cellular growth and differentiation, calcium and phosphorus metabolism and bone remodeling. Human breast carcinomas, leukemias, and prostatic carcinoma cells express VDR, which can modify their growth and differentiation. In avians, VDR appears as a doublet of 58kDa and 60kDa. Species Reactivity: Human, Pig, Mouse, Rat, Hamster, Frog, Chicken, and Fish. Others-not known.
