Description:Summary: Species: | Xp, Sh, Gt, Fi, Fe, Rb, Rt, Po, Mu, Ha, Ch, Ca, Bv | Applications: | IHC-P | Clonality: | Monoclonal | | Gene: | ACTN1 | Purity: | Ascites | Host: | Mouse | | Specificity: | This is specific for alpha-skeletal muscle actinin and alpha-cardiac actinin. It stains Z lines and dots in stress fibers of myotubes in skeletal and cardiac muscle but not in non-sarcomeric muscle elements. | Publications: | Antibody has not yet been mentioned in a publication. | Details: Clone: | EA-53 | Isotype: | IgG1 | Immunogen: | Purified rabbit skeletal alpha-actinin. | Localization: | Cytoplasmic | Gene Symbol: ACTN1 | 109711 (Mouse) | | 29437 (Rat) | Related Genes: | ACTN4, PKC, VCL, MARCKS, SLC25A5, CTTN, WT1, COL6A3, NOTCH, E14, EF, RNPC3, CALD1, GNE, ACAT1, HDAC9, MEF2A, APH1A, FGF2, IGFBP7, HDAC7, CAV1, FN1, SERPINE1, BLM, SRC, SFPQ, PRKCE, SLC2A4, LAT, NOTCH1, TPM1, MALAT-1, MED10, MYCN, MAP1A, EEF1A1, LYN, GPR151, EEF1A2 | Background: Alpha Actinin is an actin binding protein present in both muscle and non-muscle cells. It has a molecular weight of 100,000 daltons and forms dimers in solution. In normal skeletal muscle alpha actinin is associated with the z-discs that define muscle sarcomeres. In smooth muscle alpha actinin has been detected in dense bodies and plaques characteristic of the tissue. Immunofluorescent labeling of a large variety of cells using antibody to alpha actinin reveals extensive association of the proteins with actin containing stress fibers and in particular with their membrane bound termini. Species: Reactivity: | Cross-reacts with Cow, Cat, Chicken, Dog, Fish, Goat, Hamster, Lizard, Mouse, Pig, Rabbit, Rat, Sheep, Snake and Xenopus laevis. Not yet tested in other species. | Applications: Uses: | This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:25-1:50 in an ABC method. Suggested incubation period is 60 minutes at room temperature. Depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation and dilutions should be determined by the user. Not tested in other applications. | Dilutions: | Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin | Packaging: Storage: | Store at 4C. Do not freeze. | Preservative: | Sodium Azide | Limitations: | This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt, except for peptides and proteins which are guaranteed for 3 months. | |
