Background | Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. KLK14 is expressed by both benign and malignant glandular epithelial cells, thus exhibiting an expression pattern similar to that of two other prostatic kalikreins, KLK2 and KLK3. |
