Catalog Number | GTX11003 | Product Name | Actin [AC-40] antibody | Product Description | Mouse monoclonal [AC - 40] to Actin | Synonyms | 58 | ACTA1 | 102610 | P68133 | ACTA | ASMA | NEM1 | NEM2 | NEM3 | | Background | The two major cytoskeletal proteins implicated in cell motility are actin and myosin. Actin and myosin are constituents of many cell types and are involved in a myriad of cellular processes including locomotion, secretion, cytoplasmic streaming, phagocytosis and cytokinesis. Although actin is one of the most conserved eukaryotic proteins, it is expressed in mammals and birds as at least six isoforms characterized by electrophoresis and amino acid sequence analysis. Four of them represent the differentiation markers of muscle tissues and two are found in practically all cells. | Clonality | Monoclonal | Clone No | AC-40 | Host | Mouse | Isotype | IgG2a | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide: SGPSIVHKCF (human) attached to Multiple Antigen Peptide (MAP) backbone. | Antigen Species | Human | Tested Applications | Dot blot, ELISA, Immunofluorescence, IHC (Frozen sections), IHC (Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections), Western blot. The usefulness of this product in other applications has not been determined. | Application Note | Dot: Use at an assay dependent dilution. ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. IHC-F: Use at an assay dependent dilution. IF: Use at a dilution of 1/2000 determined by indirect immunofluorescent staining of cultured human or chicken fibroblasts. IHC-P: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Methanol-fixed sections. Zinc-formalin, B5, ethanol, methacarn, Brunnel?s or Bouin?s solution may also be used as fixatives. IHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependent dilution. WB: Use at a dilution of 1/500 using cultured human or chicken fibroblast extract. Predicted molecular weight: 42 kDa. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. | Specificity | The antibody does not react with the epitope on the N-terminal end of actin. | Species Cross Reactivity | Cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Cow, Carp, Chicken, Dog, Frog, Goat, Guinea pig, Hamster, Pig, Rabbit, Sheep, Snail and Viper. Not yet tested in other species. | Target | Actin | Cellular Localization | Cytoplasmic | Purification | Ascites | Storage Buffer | Preservative: 15mM Sodium Azide; Constituents: Raw Ascites | Storage Instruction | Keep as concentrated solution. Store at 4¨¬C short term. For extended storage aliquot and store at -20¨¬C or below. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. | Notes | Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use." | |
