Background | ACTH occurs in cells of the anterior pituitary and in neurons in brain. It regulates the corticosteroid production in the adrenal cortex. Beta endorphin and Met enkephalin are endogenous opiates. MSH (melanocyte stimulating hormone) increases the pigmentation of skin by increasing melanin production in melanocytes. |

Tested Applications | IHC (Frozen sections), IHC (Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections). The usefulness of this product in other applications has not been determined. |
Application Note | This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:50-1:250 in an ABC method. We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. Suitable for formalin/paraffin tissues. |
Specificity | This antibody reacts with human ACTH. This antibody cross reacts with ACTH in a wide variety of mammalian species. Traces of contaminating antibodies have been removed by solid phase absorption. |
Species Cross Reactivity | Cross-reacts with Human. Expected to cross-react with a wide range of other species due to sequence homology. Not yet tested in other species. |
