Catalog Number | GTX80648 | Product Name | ABCA1 antibody [AB.H10] | Product Description | Mouse monoclonal [AB.H10] to ABCA1 | Background | This membrane-associated protein is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intracellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the ABC1 subfamily. Members of the ABC1 subfamily comprise the only major ABC subfamily found exclusively in multicellular eukaryotes. With cholesterol as its substrate, this protein functions as a cholesteral efflux pump in the cellular lipid removal pathway. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Tangiers disease and familial high-density lipoprotein deficiency.18180 | Clone No | AB.H10 | Host | Mouse | Isotype | IgG1 | Immunogen | Recombinant fragment, corresponding to amino acids 1800-2260 of Human ABCA1. | Antigen Species | Human | Tested Applications | ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, IHC (Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections), Immunoprecipitation, Western blot. The usefulness of this product in other applications has not been determined. | Application Note | ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. IHC-P: 1/200. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval before commencing with IHC staining protocol (in sodium citrate buffer (pH 6), steamed for 30 minutes) (see recommended protocol). Amplification with biotin-streptavidin may be required. IP: Use at an assay dependent dilution. WB: 1/1000. Predicted molecular weight: 254 kDa. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. | Species Cross Reactivity | Reacts with Human, Mouse and Chicken. Not yet tested in other species. | Positive Controls | testis, liver, and brain tissue (negative control: muscle tissue). | Form Supplied | Liquid | Purification | IgG fraction | Storage Buffer | Preservative: None; Constituents: PBS. pH 7.4 | Storage Instruction | Store at +4¡ÆC short term. Aliquot and store at -20¡ÆC or -80¡ÆC. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles. | Notes | This antibody is also available with peservative: 0.05% sodium azide (GTX18180). | |
