Catalog Number | GTX11529 |
Product Name | ADAM8 antibody |
Product Description | Rabbit polyclonal to ADAM8 |
Synonyms | 101 | ADAM8 | 602267 | P78325 | CD156 | MS2 | |
Background | Members of ADAM family are cell surface proteins with a unique structure possessing both potential adhesion and protease domains. The extracellular region of ADAM8 shows significant amino acid sequence homology to hemorrhagic snake venom proteins, including the metalloprotease and disintegrin domains. The expression of ADAM8 is upregulated by retinoic acid and vitamin D3. ADAM8 is involved in protein processing at the cell surface and is also thought to act as a leukocyte differentiation marker. |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Host | Rabbit |
Isotype | IgG |
Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal of human metalloproteinase ADAM8. |
Antigen Species | Human |
Tested Applications | Western blot. The usefulness of this product in other applications has not been determined. |
Application Note | WB: A minimum working antibody dilution of 1/1000 is determined by blotting a tissue cell lysate with an alkaline phosphatase conjugated secondary antibody and BCIP/NBT as the substrate. A starting dilution of 1/5000 of the antibody is recommended for chemiluminescent substrates. (predicted molecular weight: 98.9 kDa). Note: Higher antibody dilutions may be necessary for non-human samples. EDTA/EGTA treatment of tissues or lysates is required to see latent zymogen. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. |
Specificity | Does not react with other ADAMs. |
Target | ADAM8 |
Cellular Localization | Cell Membrane |
Concentration | 1 mg/ml |
Purification | Immunogen affinity purified |
Purification Note | Affinity isolated antigen specific antibody is obtained from rabbit anti- ADAM8 antiserum by immuno-specific purification which removes essentially all rabbit serum proteins, including immunoglobulins, which do not specifically bind to the peptide. |
Storage Buffer | Preservative: 0.05% Sodium Azide; Constituents: 50% Glycerol, PBS |
Storage Instruction | For long term storage, please keep at -20¡ÆC. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
Notes | Do not store below -22 8C. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. |
