| Background | Recognizes only trimers (high molecular weight bands 180-200 kD) on Western blots of unboiled Ad2 and Ad5 fiber proteins and shows immunofluorescence with Ad5 fiber mutant H5ts142-infected cells at 320C but not at 39.50C.1. Adenovirus capsid proteins are synthesized in the cytoplasm and transported to the nucleus for assembly into the virus particles. The three major capsid proteins (hexon, penton base, and fiber) are synthesized late in infection. |
