Catalog Number | GTX10484 |
Product Name | KAP1 antibody |
Product Description | Rabbit polyclonal to KAP1 |
Synonyms | KRAB-associated protein 1 Nuclear corepressor KAP-1 TIF1-beta Transcription intermediary factor 1-beta TRIM28: tripartite motif-containing 28 |
Background | The KRAB (Kruppel Associated Box) domain is minimally about 45 amino acids in length and is a transcriptional repression domain found in numerous transcription factors. There have been identified over 220 KRAB-zinc finger protein (KRAB-ZFP) genes in the human genome. These proteins functionally repress transcription via specific interactions with KAP 1 (KRAB-Associated Protein 1). |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Host | Rabbit |
Isotype | IgG |
Immunogen | Immunogen was a synthetic peptide, which represented a portion of human tripartite motif-containing 28 (KAP1) encoded within exon 14 (LocusLink ID 10155). |
Antigen Species | Human |
Tested Applications | Immunoprecipitation, Western blot. The usefulness of this product in other applications has not been determined. |
Application Note | IP: Use at a concentration of 1 - 4 ¥ìg/mg of lysate. WB: Use at a dilution of 1/500 - 1/2000. Detects a band of approximately 110 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 100 kDa). Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. |
Species Cross Reactivity | Cross-reacts with Human. Expected to cross-react with Mouse (100% identity with immunogen) due to sequence homology. Not yet tested in other species. |
Positive Controls | Whole cell lysate from normal 293T cells or 293T cells transiently transfected with a human KAP1 construct |
Target | KAP1 |
