Catalog Number | GTX17407 | Product Name | WAS antibody | Product Description | Chicken polyclonal to WAS | Synonyms | 7454 | WAS | 300299 | P42768 | IMD2 | THC | WASP | | Background | The Wiskott Aldrich syndrome (WAS) family of proteins share similar domain structure, and are involved in transduction of signals from receptors on the cell surface to the actin cytoskeleton. The presence of a number of different motifs suggests that they are regulated by a number of different stimuli, and interact with multiple proteins. Recent studies have demonstrated that these proteins, directly or indirectly, associate with the small GTPase, Cdc42, known to regulate formation of actin filaments, and the cytoskeletal organizing complex, Arp2/3. Wiskott Aldrich syndrome is a rare, inherited, X linked, recessive disease characterized by immune dysregulation and microthrombocytopenia, and is caused by mutations in the WAS gene. The gene product is a cytoplasmic protein, expressed exclusively in hematopoietic cells, which show signalling and cytoskeletal abnormalities in WAS patients. A transcript variant arising as a result of alternative promoter usage, and containing a different 5 UTR sequence, has been described, however, its full-length nature is not known. | Clonality | Polyclonal | Host | Chicken | Isotype | IgY | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 313 to 425 of Human WASP . | Antigen Species | Human | Tested Applications | Western blot. The usefulness of this product in other applications has not been determined. | Application Note | For WB: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Predicted molecular weight: 54 kDa. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the researcher. | Species Cross Reactivity | Human - Not yet tested in other species | Target | WAS | Cellular Localization | Cytoplasmic | Form Supplied | Liquid | Purification | Affinity purified with antigen | Storage Buffer | PBS, no preservatives added | Storage Instruction | Keep as concentrated solution. Store at 4¨¬C short term. For extended storage aliquot and store at -20¨¬C or below. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. | Image:img28854.jpgWestern Blot analysis of GTX1407 at a dilution of 1:2,000.
