These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognize native protein in any application. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the OABP subfamily. Alternatively referred to as the RNase L inhibitor, this protein functions to block the activity of ribonuclease L. Activation of ribonuclease L leads to inhibition of protein synthesis in the 2-5A/RNase L system, the central pathway for viral interferon action. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq] Species: Reactivity: | Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog and Cow. | Applications: Uses: | This antibody is useful for Peptide ELISA and Western Blot. Preliminary experiments gave an approx. 80kDa band in Human Spleen lysates after 0.2?g/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 67.3kDa according to NP_002931.2. The ~80kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. | Dilutions: | ELISA 1:32000, Western Blot 0.2?g/ml | Concentrations: | 0.5 mg/ml | Positive Controls: | 1 positive controls | Packaging: Buffer: | Tris-saline [pH7.3] with 0.5% BSA | Storage: | Aliquot and store at -20C or -80C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. | Preservative: | 0.02% Sodium Azide | Limitations: | This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt, except for peptides and proteins which are guaranteed for 3 months. | |
