These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognize native protein in any application. This gene encodes the beta subunit of lysosomal acid phosphatase (LAP). LAP is chemically and genetically distinct from red cell acid phosphatase. The encoded protein belongs to a family of distinct isoenzymes which hydrolyze orthophosphoric monoesters to alcohol and phosphate. Mutations in this gene or in the related alpha subunit gene cause acid phosphatase deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq] Species: Reactivity: | Human, Mouse, Rat and Dog. | Applications: Uses: | This antibody is useful for Peptide ELISA and Western Blot. Preliminary experiments gave an approx 35kDa band in Human Bone Marrow lysates after 1?g/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 48.3kDa according to NP_001601.1. The 35kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. | Dilutions: | ELISA 1:16000, Western Blot 1?g/ml | Concentrations: | 0.5 mg/ml | Positive Controls: | 1 positive controls | Packaging: Buffer: | Tris-saline [pH7.3] with 0.5% BSA | Storage: | Aliquot and store at -20C or -80C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. | Preservative: | 0.02% Sodium Azide | Limitations: | This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt, except for peptides and proteins which are guaranteed for 3 months. | |
