Description:Summary: Species: | Hu | Applications: | WB | Clonality: | Polyclonal | | Gene: | CASP2 | Purity: | IgG purified | Host: | Rabbit | | Specificity: | Casp-2 / ICH-1 / Nedd2 | Publications: | Antibody has not yet been mentioned in a publication. | Details: Isotype: | IgG | Immunogen: | Rabbit anti-Caspase-2 (NT) polyclonal antibody was raised against a 16 amino acid peptide from the amino-terminus of human Caspase-2 (Genbank accession No. P42575). | Gene Symbol: CASP2 Entrez: | 835 (Human) | Related Genes: | CASP3, CASP9, CASP8, CASP1, CYCS, BCL2L1, BCL2, CASP7, BAX, PARP1, BID, CASP6, CRADD, FAS, TP53, ICH-1, LRDD, COL11A2, APAF1, FASLG, DIABLO, BAK1, FADD, TNFSF10, AIFM1, MAPK8, TNF, CDKN1A, CUX1, CASP10, MCL1, CRTAP, CYTIP, NFKB1, GZMB, RIPK1, AKT1, XIAP, JUN, HTT | Background: Caspases are a family of cysteine proteases that can be divided into the apoptotic and inflammatory caspase subfamilies. Unlike the apoptotic caspases, members of the inflammatory subfamily are generally not involved in cell death but are associated with the immune response to microbial pathogens (reviewed in 1 and 2). Members of this subfamily include caspase-1, -4, -5, and -12 and can activate proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1beta and IL-18 (3,4). Although phylogenetically similar to this subfamily, Caspase-2 is thought to be involved in stress-induced apoptosis (5). Caspase-2 has two major isoforms; overexpression on the long form results in apoptosis while that of the short form suppresses cell death (6). Species: Reactivity: | This antibody is reactive against Human | Applications: Uses: | This polyclonal antibody can be used for the detection of Caspase-2 by Western blot at 1 ug/ml. Ramos cell lysate can be used as positive control. Anti-Caspase-2 (NT) is human and mouse reactive. Depending on cell lines or tissues used, other cleavage products may be observed. | Dilutions: | Western Blot 1 ug/ml, | Packaging: Buffer: | Supplied in PBS | Storage: | Store at 4C. Do not freeze. | Preservative: | 0.02% Sodium Azide | Limitations: | This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Products are guaranteed for 6 months from date of receipt, except for peptides and proteins which are guaranteed for 3 months. | |
