Synonyms | SERPINA1, AAT |
Swiss Prot Num | P01009 |
Immunogen | Human Alpha 1-Antitrypsin. Purified from plasma, shown to be pure by IEP. |
Product Type | Antibodies |
Storage | Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8 °C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch. |
|
Format | State: Liquid purified Ig fraction |
? | Label: The immunoglobulin is conjugated with horseradish peroxidase (periodate method). |
? | Purification: Adsorption to monospecificity by the use of solid phase adsorbants. Following adsorption, an immunoglobulin fraction is produced by ion-exchange chromatography. |
? | Buffer System: PBS, pH 7.2, containing 0.05% ProclinTM300, 0.002% Methylisothiazolone and 0.002% Bromonitrodioxane as preservative |
|
Specificity | The unconjugated immunoglobulin gives a single arc when tested by IEP and 2D-IEP against human serum. Identity has been confirmed by double diffusion (Ouchterlony) against human serum and an anti-human alpha 1-Antitrypsin of known specificity. |
Application | Recommended for use in enzyme immunoassays. EIA: to give an A450nm = 1.0 using wells coated with human alpha-1-antitrypsin at 5 ?g/ml, and TMB as the chromogen: 1:12,800 - 1:25,600. |
Background | Alpha 1-Antitrypsin is a plasma protein synthesized in the liver. It consists of a single polypeptide chain and has a molecular weight of 51 kDa. A serine protease inhibitor, its primary function is the protection of lung tissue from the action of neutrophil elastase. |
Caution | Use of sodium azide as a preservative will substantially inhibit the enzyme activity of horseradish peroxidase |
Concentration | 5 mg/ml |
