Specificity | This antibody recognises alpha 1 integrin (CD49a). Clone HM alpha 1 is reported to block VLA-1 dependent adhesion. We recommend the use of SM2099LE for this purpose. |
Application | Flow Cytometry: 1/25- 1/100; use 10 ?l of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Immunoprecipitation. |
Background | CD49a is a 180kD transmembrane glycoprotein, which associates with the beta 1 integrin subunit to form the CD49a/CD29 (VLA-1) heterodimer. CD49a is expressed on activated T lymphocytes and at low levels on monocytes. VLA-1 is a receptor for laminin and collagen and plays an important role in regulating adhesion. |
